Over the weekend of the 14th & 15th April 2012, Masigcine Children’s Home in Mfuleni received a total maintenance / touch makeover, sponsored by TeamUP

Like all good households, every couple of year’s general maintenance needs to be done. These jobs include painting, fascia boards, plumbing, electrical, flooring, carpeting, carpentry and other general handyman work. Well an awesome team of volunteers from all over Cape Town came together to help and in a matter of 16-hours everything was done and this Home was ship shape once again!

The weather was rather unpredictable but this didn’t deter the volunteers. They persevered and finished a fine piece of work. In the meantime, the staff from the Home spent the night at the beautiful Lagoon Beach Hotel. They were very impressed when they returned to see what had been done for them and the children in their absence.

Our appreciation also goes to the 22 suppliers who all offered their services and material either at a discounted rate or as a donation. With their generosity we were able to exceed the expectations.

The accomplishments were astonishing…
