Rise and Shine Educare
The Rise & Shine EduCare in the Strand received a dynamic facelift on Saturday the 23rd February 2013.
The volunteers were from Engen Corporate Affairs Customer Services Division and the Newkidz on the block volunteer base which made up a hard working (and great attitude) team of 47 people, most of whom worked a double shift.
The project started at 09h00 and we finished at 16h30, which was earlier than planned.
It was very hot and the area that we could work in was a premium but despite this, the volunteers willingly worked around each other which created a peaceful atmosphere. It was great to witness how everyone followed instructions and worked very neatly, which minimized the cleaning up at the end (which was also a bonus). We also only had to open the first aid kit to take out the sun block.
Our youngest members were Seth (aged 10) and his little brother Noah (aged 5) who were on site for both shifts and helped in the garden and painting. It looked like they were enjoying themselves. They were extremely well behaved little boys who made their daddy, Mathew, proud.

This project was also tremendously blessed by the generosity of suppliers who gave of their material and skills for free. We trust that their business will be blessed for their contribution.
