Painting the interior of the toddlers classroom
This was our second project with Kimberly & Monte from Numa Life Church. They co-ordinate international volunteers, visiting our beautiful country, to do various community outreach projects and it was an absolute privilege to host the 9 volunteers in this group.
We had one morning to prepare and paint the classroom which accommodates 34 little children between the ages of 4 and 5.
It was a cold and wet morning however despite the moisture in the air we were still able to complete two coats of a lovely calming colour to the walls of this classroom. It takes quite a bit of doing to do all of this in a matter of 3 hours but the volunteers who work with Newkidz on the Block seem to have it in them to perform miracles J.
An old bookshelf also got a new lease on life with the creative artwork of one of the team.
It proved yet again, on our 76th project, that when an event is well planned and we have a group of volunteers with a great attitude and their heart are at the project for the right reason, sooo much can be accomplished.
Thank you to Kimberly and Monte for giving Newkidz on the Block the privilege of identifying smaller projects that need help. We look forward to many more of these projects.
Below is an extract from a thank you note from Princess, the principal of this Educare:
Thanks, I’m so grateful of what you have done for me and my kids. You motivate me a lot, give more strength to look after these children, be blessed.
